Our bins are suitable for the following types of general, business and construction waste:

• General waste: This includes general household waste such as cardboard, paper, timber, clothes and toys. You can also dispose of white goods with the exception of fridge/freezers and computer/electronic equipment.
• Construction waste: This includes waste materials such as bricks, steel, scrap metal, glass, concrete, pavers and ceramics. Basically, any waste building material that is suitable for recycling.
• Dirt & Soil: This includes garden waste or spoils from an excavation project. There are strict weight limits for bins, so be careful not to overload the skip. We will advise you on maximum weight limits when you make a booking.
• Green waste: This includes garden waste such as woodchips, tree branches, weeds and grass clippings. Soil and dirt will need to be put in a separate skip.

Look to hire a mini skip bin for projects where a wheelie bin is too small and a full-size skip bin is too large. Yes, you can place a skip bin on your driveway, provided it’s structurally sound and can support the weight of the bin. However, it’s always best to check with your local council to ensure there are no specific regulations or requirements for skip bin placement on private property.

If the bin sits on your own property, such as your driveway, you don't need a permit. If it needs to go on the road or verge (nature strip), Sunshine Coast Council requires a temporary works permit. Council asks for at least 28 working days to process an application, and fees, a bond and public liability insurance apply, so placing the bin on your property is usually the easiest option. Outside the Sunshine Coast Council area, such as Moreton Bay, check with your local council.

If you do overload the skip bin, we may need to remove some of the waste before we can safely transport it, which may result in additional fees. Luckily, we offer a wide range of skip bin sizes so you can hire a skip bin large enough to suit your needs.

No, you don’t need to be present when the skip bin is delivered or collected, so long as we have clear access to the delivery and pick-up location. However, if you won’t be present, please ensure that you provide clear instructions for the placement of the skip bin and that any obstacles, such as parked cars or gates, are removed.
